HEB annouces a new PURCHASE OPTION UPDATE
UPDATE 13/3/09: A purchase provides a 10-year license to all current and future content, which will be growing at an average annual rate of over 13%. The purchase option includes ownership of the files for any works that are not protected by copyright [the out-of-copyright and orphan works is just 15% of the collection at this point] at the expiration of the 10-year term. In conversations with librarians, ten years was considered the best approximation for "perpetual" in the current electronic environment for platforms, delivery and archiving systems. This means that by the end of 10 years the collection will have grown to over 6700 volumes in all fields across the humanities, including distinguished series from leading university presses. Over 10 years, one-time purchase will save an average of 20% off projected annual subscription rates, in addition to libraries' internal savings on the administration and management of annual subscriptions and renewals.

For help with setting up your proxy server for off-campus access, go to: http://www.humanitiesebook.org (25/2/12)
If off-site, there could be problems with the proxy server configuration, which would need to be tackled locally. MARC Records (11/9/14)
MARC records and cataloging data for all titles in the collection are available for download. Subscribers may download either a zip file containing 352 records for our newly released titles or a cumulative zip file containing 4,103 records corresponding to all 4,315 titles now live in the collection. (Note that one record may cover multiple volumes of the same title.)
New subscribers or those who have not recently updated their MARC records for the collection should download acls1-11.zip (covering all titles in rounds 1-11, online as of August 2014). In order to add MARCs for only the most recent releases, please download the file acls11.zip, which includes records for the 353 books added in August 2014, as well as for 8 XML-encoded frontlist titles released intermittently since our last major title release in August 2013.
If downloading the new records only, please bear in mind that a number of titles are being removed in this round and that you may wish to manually remove the corresponding MARC records from your library catalog. A list of all titles removed from the collection to date, including the 33 books removed in this round, can be found here:
